Facebook is
changing their logo. Facebook is not just an app anymore. Various other
companies or organizations like WhatsApp, Instagram, Oculus, Portal, Calibra,
LiveRail etc are owned by Facebook. With one logo ‘FaceBook’ it is very much
inappropriate to accurately depict the entire organization. So Facebook's logo is
changing. The logo is supposed to be put to use in the “coming weeks” within
Facebook products and marketing materials.
The popular
and famous online THE VERGE says on their report, "This new logo will
surely solve all of Facebook’s problems, New logo represents Facebook the
parent company'.
Facebook's
chief marketing officer Antonio Lucio said in a blog post that the new branding
- which has the Facebook name spelled out in a different font than the one
that's adorned its namesake service for years - was "designed for clarity,
and uses custom typography and capitalization to create visual distinction
between the company and app."
On Monday, 4
November 2019, Facebook unveiled a new logo as a parent company in their
newsroom. In this logo, only the word Facebook is highlighted in a generic
font. A GIF made logo uses few colors combination to show all the organizations,
such as Facebook with blue, WhatsApp with green and Instagram with pink etc.
The new Facebook logo will be seen in various marketing products and services
along with Facebook soon.
In their blog
post on Facebook, they said, they started out as a single app. After 15 years,
the number of Facebook products and services has increased. Different
businesses have been added here. That’s why Facebook is changing the brand logo
to give clearer idea of Facebook products and services.
